EYOT 2010 - Profile
General In 2007 the IOC decided the introduction of Youth Olympic Games for young athletes of all Olympic sports. The IAAF has been mandated by the IOC to draft the qualification criteria and quotas for all areas. In 2008 the IAAF decided to request all areas to organise qualification event(s) for the Youth Olympic Games 2010.

Boys
- Running: 100m, 200m, 400m, 1000m, 3000m, 110m H, 400m H, 2000m SC
- Walking: 10.000m (track)
- Jumps: High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump
- Throws: Shot put (5kg), Discus Throw (1.5kg), Hammer Throw (5kg), Javelin Throw

Girls

- Walking: 5.000m (track)

Participants Athletes aged 16 or 17 on 31 December in the year of the competition. IAAF fixed the free place quota at 730. All 50 European Athletics Federations (MFs) are allowed to compete. However, MFs without NOC (GIB) cannot qualify for YOG. Preliminary number of athletes will be known February 2010.
